I am a robotics engineer at Honeybee Robotics. I did my PhD in mechanical engineering at UCSB where I was awarded Best PhD Dissertation in Mechanical Engineering in 2023. I completed my BSE at Duke University in 2017.

I was a NASA Space Technology Research Fellow from 2019-2023, focusing on burrowing robots for extraterrestrial subterranean access, anchoring, and sensor placement. I am also an NSF Graduate Research Fellowship awardee, and UCSB Fiona and Michael Goodchild Graduate Mentoring Award winner.

My research is at the intersection of mechanical design, material science, and experimental physics. Leveraging my multidisciplinary skills, I am particularly interested in developing soft robots and mechanically intelligent systems that passively adapt to unstructured or changing situations in extreme environments such as space, underground, underwater, and inside the human body.
